The brutal president of the Russian republic of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, has reported an attack by a Ukrainian drone via the messaging app Telegram.

The drone hit the roof of a police barracks in the Chechen capital Grozny in the Russian Caucasus region early on Thursday morning, injuring four people. "The drone detonated in the air, damaging the roof and breaking windows," said Kadyrov, describing the incident:

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian army announced that Russian troops had destroyed or captured several Ukrainian positions near the eastern city of Pokrovsk. "As a result of the ongoing fighting, two of our positions were destroyed and one was lost. Measures are currently being taken to restore the positions," said Nazar Voloshyn, the Ukrainian military spokesman for the eastern front, in a televised commentary.

Month-long advance on Pokrovsk
After months of advancing on Pokrovsk, Russian troops have now advanced to within three kilometers of the southern edge of the city, as the Ukrainian agency DeepState reported. Pokrovsk is a logistics center for the Ukrainian military. The city also has a mine, which is Ukraine's only domestic supplier of coking coal for its once huge steel industry.
