Drug gang took 170,000 euros with amphetamines

Seven Romanians are said to have sold synthetic drugs worth 170,000 euros in the district of Leibnitz (Styria). The investigation began in April - drugs, cash and weapons were found during house searches. Five main perpetrators were caught and two others are under investigation.

A gang in the Leibnitz district is said to have been heavily involved in drug trafficking. Between summer 2023 and August 2024, they are believed to have smuggled drugs across the border from Romania - 30 customers are said to have purchased around 2.8 kilograms of "3CMC" as a result.

House searches provided evidence
Detectives from Spielfeld and Leibnitz have been investigating since April 2024 and have since succeeded in proving that five suspects (27 to 44) were involved in drug trafficking. During searches at their residences, narcotics, cash, weapons (pepper spray, brass knuckles) and various items (household appliances, jewelry) were found that could be stolen goods.

Seven Romanians under suspicion
With this evidence, the five main perpetrators were arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor's office in Graz. They are now being held in Graz-Jakomini prison. Two further suspects are under investigation.
