Youth injured police officers during arrest

This is probably not how a 23-year-old Romanian and a 17-year-old local would have imagined the end of an event in Stans (Schwaz district). During a police check, herbal cannabis was found on one of them. The other resisted arrest and injured a police officer.

The incident took place late on Friday afternoon when the police received a report that a person was selling cannabis at an event in Stans.

During the subsequent check by officers from Schwaz police station, a Romanian (23) and a local (17) were identified as suspects. However, the young man defended himself during the check and behaved aggressively despite several warnings.

The Austrian tried to resist arrest, causing a police officer to suffer a minor injury to his hand.

He pushed one of the police officers and was eventually arrested. "The Austrian tried to resist arrest, causing a police officer to suffer a minor injury (a serious injury under criminal law) to his hand," the police said.

Charges follow
The teenager was also seriously injured. He will now be charged with suspicion of resisting arrest, grievous bodily harm, dangerous threats and violations of the Narcotics Act.

Colleague also charged
Around 20 grams of herbal cannabis, a combat knife and a switchblade knife were found and seized from the 23-year-old. He is already subject to a weapons ban. He will be charged at large.
