Forestry worker’s leg trapped in accident

A 21-year-old forestry worker in Obertilliach in East Tyrol suffered serious injuries on Friday. He had to be flown to hospital in Lienz by rescue helicopter.

The local man was working in the Moderwald forest. While loading a trailer, the timber crane suddenly tipped over, causing the tree hanging from the crane to hit the 21-year-old's leg and trap him.

Work colleagues raised the alarm
Work colleagues made an emergency call, the mountain rescue team and the Obertilliach fire department were called out and rescued the worker, who had suffered serious injuries. The emergency helicopter flew him to hospital.
