Cars collided: both drivers seriously injured

Serious accident in Silz in the Tyrolean district of Imst on Saturday! Two drivers - a man (48) and a woman (19) - collided at a junction. Both sustained serious injuries.

The accident happened at around 10.45 am. The 48-year-old man was driving his car in Silz on the Mötzer Dorfstraße L59 in the direction of the Inntalautobahn feeder road. He approached a junction where a local road joins the L59.

At the same time, the 19-year-old woman drove her car from the local road into the junction in front of the man.

"At the same time, the 19-year-old drove her car from the local road into the junction in front of the man," said the police. Neither driver was able to avoid a collision. "Due to the force of the impact, the 19-year-old's vehicle spun 180 degrees and the right rear end crashed into a traffic sign and a crash barrier."

Both the 48-year-old and the 19-year-old were seriously injured in the crash and were taken to Zams Hospital.
