The state of health of winter sports superstar Jarl Magnus Riiber is currently causing great concern: the Nordic combined skier from Norway has contracted a mysterious gastrointestinal illness - and it hasn't been getting any better for several weeks! Particularly dramatic: "I've been pooping blood for four weeks, that can't be good!"

You really don't have to be a doctor to share Riiber's concerns - and as the 27-year-old added in an interview with "NRK", it is also worrying that the doctors have not yet found out what exactly is wrong with him.

Wisdom tooth surgery the cause of his ailment?
Riiber, who has always been an extremely persistent opponent of the Austrians Johannes Lamparter and Stefan Rettenegger in recent years, believes that the trigger for his ailment could be a wisdom tooth operation not so long ago.

While national coach Jan Schmid, who was treated promptly, was able to take part in an orienteering race the following day, Riiber was completely weakened. During this weak phase, he must have caught a gastrointestinal virus.

"Like everyone else, I was shocked, it's no fun to see blood in the toilet," said Riiber (including eight World Championship medals, four-time overall World Cup winner, 61 individual World Cup victories), who, despite all the setbacks in recent weeks, does not want to rule out taking part in the season opener on November 28 in Ruka.
