Crane toppled over right in front of a kindergarten

A crane fell over on the grounds of a kindergarten in Pölfing-Brunn (Styria) on Wednesday morning. Fortunately, no one was injured, but there is a lot of excitement.

The mobile crane was actually only supposed to cut down a tree in front of the kindergarten in Pölfing-Brunn. But during the work in front of the building, the heavy piece of equipment toppled over - right next to the children's playground.

Photos and stories of the incident immediately began to circulate. Peter Kastner, a resident of Pölfing-Brunn, describes: "My daughter-in-law and my granddaughter entered the kindergarten and the truck-mounted crane fell over right behind them. A few seconds earlier and it wouldn't have been worth thinking about."

Mayor: "No danger"
The municipality has already commented on the incident on social media: "Although there was no danger to our children and the kindergarten staff, I accompanied them to the school in the presence of the police, where rooms could be used," explains Mayor Hannes Schlag. "It should also be mentioned that the southern area of the kindergarten has been closed since the start of the construction work." There was never any danger.

Investigations into how the accident could have happened are ongoing.
