In the late hours of Friday evening, driving on the A9 towards Spielfeld became a hazard: an unknown person had thrown household waste from a bridge onto the first carriageway. Details are still unclear, which is why the police have appealed for witnesses.

Extraordinary scenes took place on a Styrian highway on Friday evening. A previously unknown perpetrator threw household waste from a bridge onto the first lane of the A 9 near Lang (Leibnitz district) in the direction of Spielfeld (near the Lebring junction). Plastic waste and cat food cans in particular were strewn across the carriageway and became a hazard for many drivers.

Police ask for information
Added to this was the heavy fog - the police are now investigating deliberate endangerment of the public. Even though there was no accident, an appeal for witnesses has been launched: Endangered drivers or witnesses should contact the Graz-West highway police at phone number 059133/6138-200 or 133 with any information about a possible suspect. Asfinag took care of cleaning the highway.
