Accident causes power failure in Oberwart

A car driver crashed into a fuse box near the exhibition grounds in Oberwart on Saturday night. He committed a hit and run!

It must have been a spectacular scene caused by an unknown car driver in Oberwart on Saturday night. Presumably at too high a speed, the driver first crashed into a fuse box in the area of the exhibition grounds and then drove down the embankment towards Pinka.

With a lot of luck, he did not end up in the water and was able to turn his vehicle around in the dicey situation in order to drive back up the steep slope. He then committed a hit-and-run.

The fuse box that the driver of the car crashed into was so badly damaged in the crash that the street lighting in Informstrasse, Rechter and Linker Pinkaufer, parts of Schulgasse and the sports grounds were completely out of action.

No power supply: Parking machines out of order
The parking machines in the affected areas will also be out of service for the next few days. Until the power supply is restored - probably at the beginning of the week - there will also be no parking ticket controls. The road hog has been charged with gross damage to property and hit-and-run. The police have started the investigation.
