Tax raids at Netflix in Paris and Amsterdam

Several company headquarters of streaming giant Netflix have been searched on suspicion of concealing tax fraud and illegal employment. The preliminary investigations into the video streaming market leader have been ongoing since November 2022. 

Financial investigators and anti-corruption investigators scrutinized the company's headquarters in France, as the German press agency Deutsche Presse-Agentur learned from judicial circles in Paris. Other, unspecified locations were also searched.

At the same time as the raids in France, Dutch investigators also searched Netflix's European headquarters in Amsterdam. This was announced by a spokesperson for the public prosecutor's office. He did not provide any further information. "We have complied with a request for mutual legal assistance from the French authorities. They are leading the investigation."
