The mega frustration was followed by a great Formula 1 show! "In the morning I wanted to destroy the garage, then I drove the best race of my career," says Max Verstappen after his memorable triumph in Brazil.

It was a qualifying session to forget! A crash involving Lance Stroll prevented Verstappen from setting another fast lap on Sunday morning, which might have improved the Dutchman's grid position. As a result, he only managed twelfth place, and due to his grid penalty for a new engine, the championship leader even slipped back to 17th place.

Now Verstappen admits that he almost tried to "destroy" the Red Bull garage after qualifying. The reason for his anger: in his view, the red flag for Stroll's accident came far too late. "The others can still do their lap - and we can't. That's unbelievable. That's just nonsense!"

But Verstappen rallied again - and delivered a memorable race. In the rain chaos of Interlagos, the Dutchman drove from 17th on the grid to his first win of the season in 133 days. "I don't even know where to start, because my emotions fluctuated between almost destroying the garage and winning the race," said Verstappen.
