NHL: Rossi’s first goal of the season in Minnesota’s win

Austria's ice hockey forward Marco Rossi has scored his first goal of the current NHL season. With the Minnesota Wild, the Vorarlberg native won Tuesday's game against the St. Louis Blues 4:1 (local time).

Rossi was on the ice for almost 17 minutes in his team's fourth game of the season and scored in the final period to make it 3-0 (41'). It was Minnesota's second win in the NHL regular season so far after two consecutive losses.

Also scoring for Minnesota were Ryan Hartman on the power play (4th), Jakub Lauko with a shorthander (8th) and goalie Filip Gustavsson into the empty net shortly before the end (60th). Gustavsson thus became the 15th goalie to achieve this feat in the NHL. Mathieu Joseph (51) scored the only goal for the hosts from Missouri. Minnesota was missing defenseman and captain Jared Spurgeon and center Joel Eriksson Ek due to injury.

Rossi is Austria's only professional in the world's strongest ice hockey league. In addition to his first goal, the 23-year-old has already contributed three assists in the four games of the season so far.
