Could no longer brake: Biker crashes into car

Heavy traffic on Innsbruck's Hallerstraße: not an unusual sight in the Tyrolean capital. However, a collision occurred on Friday when a car driver wanted to turn off and a motorcyclist was unable to brake in time.

A serious accident occurred in the middle of rush hour traffic on Innsbruck's Hallerstraße on Friday. At around 5.10 p.m., a local man (63) wanted to change from the right-hand lane to the left-hand lane with his car in a convoy of traffic. A small truck allowed the 63-year-old to move into the left lane.

However, a motorcyclist (31) coming after him was unable to brake in time to prevent a collision. The Austrian was hit by the car on the right-hand side and crashed as a result, according to the police. The biker was taken to Innsbruck Hospital by the ambulance service with serious injuries.
