Is Lionel Messi’s next club already set?

The Catalan newspaper "El Nacional" wants to know Lionel Messi's future plans. According to a possible report, the Argentine is not planning to end his career in Miami. Rather, the eight-time world footballer wants to return to his youth club Newell's Old Boys.

Messi played for the Rosario club until the age of 13 before moving to FC Barcelona in 2000. After 25 years, the exceptional footballer is now set to return to his roots next year. The striker had already declared in 2016 that he wanted to play for Newell's Old Boys again one day.

Messi is still chasing titles in the North American MLS, however, with the 37-year-old under contract with Inter Miami until December 2025. The top club from Florida is currently top of the Eastern Conference table, and ending his US adventure with a trophy would probably be the ideal end for the world champion.
