Quarterback legend Favre reveals terrible diagnosis

Former football quarterback Brett Favre is suffering from Parkinson's disease. He recently received the diagnosis, the 54-year-old said at a congressional hearing on Tuesday.

Favre explained that he had invested in a company that was working on a drug to treat concussions, but the project failed. Now it is too late for him personally, he said, as he was recently diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.

Investigation into misappropriated funds
"Unfortunately, I also invested in a company that I believed was developing a breakthrough concussion drug that could help others," Favre said in his opening remarks, in connection with the investigation surrounding funds allegedly misappropriated at the company. "And I'm sure you'll understand why it's too late for me, as I was recently diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. This is also a matter close to my heart."

Favre is one of several defendants from whom the misappropriated funds are being recovered. However, he has denied any wrongdoing and has not yet been criminally charged.

Favre played 20 seasons in the NFL, winning the Super Bowl with the Green Bay Packers in 1997.
