Failed robbery attempt: victim slightly injured

A 59-year-old woman was injured in an attempted robbery in Innsbruck on Tuesday night. She defended her handbag, which an unknown perpetrator tried to snatch from her, with all her strength.

The 59-year-old visitor to a betting shop was standing outside the shop in Reichenau shortly after midnight on Tuesday to smoke a cigarette. According to the police, a male person dressed entirely in dark clothing suddenly approached the woman and tried to snatch her handbag.

The unknown perpetrator dragged the victim about one to two meters from the entrance area until the woman finally fell.

However, the 59-year-old woman did not let go and was pulled along by the perpetrator for one to two meters before she finally fell. The suspected robber then let go of his victim and the bag and fled on foot without any loot.

The woman was slightly injured in the incident and her glasses were also damaged. The local woman was taken to hospital for clarification. The police are investigating to track down the unknown perpetrator.
