Elon Musk praises Georgia Meloni’s migration policy

Tesla boss Elon Musk shows sympathy for the right-wing government of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. He praised Meloni's migration policy on his platform X. "Bravo!", commented Musk under a video message from Meloni against illegal immigration.

After the public prosecutor's office in Palermo requested six years in prison against Italy's Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini in a trial concerning the handling of migrants on the Mediterranean a week ago, the leader of the right-wing governing party Lega received solidarity from Musk. "This crazy prosecutor should go to prison for six years himself, he's crazy," wrote Musk on X. Musk's statement drew criticism from Italy's opposition circles.

Musk also received an invitation from Salvini
Lega leader Salvini then invited Musk to take part in the annual meeting of his party's supporters in Pontida, Lombardy, on October 6. A delegation from the FPÖ and the Hungarian Fidesz was also invited to the meeting, according to Lega circles.

The US billionaire appeared at the "Atreju" political festival organized by the leading Italian ruling party "Fratelli d'Italia" (FdI - Brothers of Italy) around Meloni in December. In his speech, the native South African took a critical stance on immigration. Immigration is not a solution to the declining birth rate in industrialized countries, said Musk.
