Young skilled workers shine at the World Skills Championships in Lyon

The World Skills have been beaten: six participants from Vienna can celebrate their successes, especially the podium finish.

Exciting days lie behind the young skilled workers who competed at the World Skills Championships in Lyon at the weekend. As in previous years, the Austrians returned home with several medals in their luggage.

A Viennese can also be pleased about bronze: hotel receptionist Lisa-Marie Spörk was able to convince the jury. "I put so much work, pressure and stress into this preparation for months, and to see that it has paid off is simply overwhelming," says the Viennese.

The six participants from Vienna were also delighted to receive two "Medallions for Excellence". "The achievements of our Viennese participants are an outstanding success for the city and the entire economy. They have proven that they are among the best skilled workers in the world," says Maria Neumann, Head of the Vienna Trade and Crafts Division of the Vienna Chamber of Commerce.
