A man broke into a detached house in the Tyrolean Außerfern - and was observed doing so. The two witnesses had the presence of mind to raise the alarm and inform the police. A manhunt was launched - the handcuffs then clicked in another district.

Between 20.45 and 20.55, a Georgian man (29) forced his way into a detached house in the Tyrolean municipality of Weißenbach am Lech. But he was not to get away with it: Two witnesses were able to observe him breaking in and immediately alerted the police.

Arrest in another district
The suspect was tracked down and stopped as part of the manhunt. But not near the crime scene, but in Zams in the Landeck district!

The suspect was arrested and taken to Landeck police station. He will be questioned with an interpreter on Friday.

Stolen property seized
During the check, the investigators found a purse stolen from the house as well as other items such as a screwdriver and a ring. The suspect was arrested and taken to Landeck police station, where he will be questioned on Friday with an interpreter.

The exact amount of damage cannot yet be determined. Further investigations are underway.
