Cancer patient waits in vain for results

"The post is good for everyone"! Dietlinde Hlavac from Grödig (Salzburg) can only laugh wearily at this advertising slogan. Her letterbox often remains empty. The post office itself promises a rapid improvement in the situation. 

Dietlinde Hlavac walks from her apartment on the second floor to the first floor several times a day. The Grödig resident opens the letterbox, then almost always goes back upstairs in frustration. This is because the 80-year-old often waits in vain for her mail. "Our regular deliverer makes an effort. As soon as he's not there, nothing works at all," she groans.

Long awaited concert tickets
In the past ten days, Hlavac has only received her letters once - including long-awaited concert tickets. "I thought they wouldn't come at all. But they are a birthday present," says the Salzburg native. However, Hlavac is waiting even more urgently for another letter.

The 80-year-old is a cancer patient - she should have received the lab results of her blood test days ago. "My family doctor absolutely needs them," says Hlavac angrily. What makes her particularly angry? "All complaints to the post office are pointless. They always just say it's vacation time."

Swiss Post promises immediate improvement
Swiss Post itself confirmed this when asked by "Krone". Due to "an increased number of sick days and vacations", there have recently been delays in the delivery of letters. "However, the district has been staffed normally again since this week," they promise.
