The US internet company Google is increasingly becoming a hardware provider and is now launching a series of expensive new high-end smartphones in the race for customer favor with its Pixel 9 smartphone series. One of the biggest innovations on the Pixel 9 - we tested the Pro version - can be seen at first glance: Google has given its smartphones a new design. It has become more angular than previous generations, and with its striking metal frame, the ninth generation is a little more reminiscent of the smartphones of a Californian competitor than previous Pixels. With the Pixel-typical camera bar, now also a little more angular than before, there is still a certain recognition value. But design isn't everything, exciting innovations can be found under the hood - and in the software enriched with AI algorithms, which even enlarges cats.
