Israeli airstrikes cause casualties in Syria

According to activists, seven people, including three civilians, were killed in Israeli airstrikes on army bases in Syria on Sunday evening. 13 violent explosions were counted.

The remaining dead include another civilian and four soldiers. At least 15 other people were injured.

The fatalities in the Masyaf area included a man and his son who were traveling in a car, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

The Israeli attacks, which were carried out in three waves, were directed at five army bases east of the city of Hama, where pro-Iranian groups and weapons development experts are present.

A scientific research center is also located in the area. According to the information, 13 violent explosions were counted. 

According to Sana, Israel launched its airstrikes from the north-west of Lebanon at around 11.20 p.m. local time. Syrian air defenses had shot down several missiles.

Israel does not usually comment on such attacks. However, the country repeatedly attacks militia positions in Syria that are supported by Iran. Government soldiers and militiamen are also regularly killed in the process. Since the beginning of the Gaza war eleven months ago, Israel has intensified these attacks.
