Duo from Völkermarkt stashed drugs and weapons

After drugs and weapons were found in the possession of a 35- and 23-year-old Carinthian at the beginning of January during a driver's check despite a ban on weapons being in force, officers made a further discovery during a house search.

As already reported at the beginning of the year, a court-authorized house search was carried out on Wednesday in the home of the 23-year-old man from Völkermarkt, where the second accused, the 35-year-old, was also sheltering.

During the house search, narcotics paraphernalia, several grams of magic mushrooms, cocaine and heroin, as well as ecstasy and benzos were seized. Furthermore, several weapons, knives, softguns and paintball markers of different varieties were seized. 

As both men are subject to an official weapons ban, they were reported to the public prosecutor's office in Klagenfurt regarding the weapons and possession of narcotics. At the request of the public prosecutor's office, the 35-year-old was taken to Klagenfurt prison. The 23-year-old was released. 

The investigations by the narcotics investigation team of the Völkermarkt district police command are ongoing.
