Drunk man (26) attacks teenager and police

Attempted robbery, assault, resisting arrest - these are the results of an incident that took place at Klagenfurt Central Station on Monday night. In the leading role: a heavily intoxicated 26-year-old.

It happened at around 3 a.m.: two boys aged 14 and 15 were waiting for the train to their home town when they were attacked by the 26-year-old. The man tried to rob the two teenagers and injured them by punching and kicking them. Both teenagers suffered injuries of indeterminate severity as a result.

The police intervened only a short time later: The officers wanted to calm the perpetrator down - he tried to flee, but was stopped and arrested. During the arrest, he behaved aggressively and injured one of the two police officers.

The alcohol test carried out revealed that the 26-year-old was heavily intoxicated. The man from Klagenfurt was taken to the police detention center. Further investigations are now being carried out.
