Cobra operation: Neighbor threatened to kill him

A man from Villach threatened to kill his neighbor (65) on Monday night - and a shot was fired.

Shortly before 1 a.m., the 65-year-old man from Villach alerted the police because his neighbor had allegedly threatened to kill him. The man, who lives in the apartment below the 65-year-old, had backed up this threat with a shot.

A short time later, the police and EKO Cobra arrived at the house - at the officers' request, the suspect came out of the apartment and was arrested.

At first he denied owning a firearm at all - but then admitted to having a blank gun and ammunition in his car. His partner (37) had hidden the weapon there.

During the entire incident, three underage children were also in the suspect's apartment: "But they didn't notice any of this," a police officer told the "Krone" newspaper.

Neither the suspect nor his partner could be questioned until Monday morning due to their heavy intoxication. The suspect was taken to the Villach police detention center after the arrest.

No one was injured.
