Man voluntarily lets himself be run over by trains

Several times in the past week, a man is said to have sought out a life-threatening thrill: He lay down by the tracks and let himself be "rolled over" by the train. On Monday evening, this triggered a huge operation in St. Pölten.

A horror report from a train driver led many emergency services to the Westbahn line near the so-called Eisberg in St. Pölten on Monday evening: He had presumably hit a person and initiated emergency braking. After a long search, the emergency braking was stopped because no one was found.

Test of courage survived every time
But the ÖBB employee was probably not entirely mistaken. According to the police, a presumably mentally unstable man is said to have laid down parallel to the Western Railway tracks in the region several times in the last week in order to be "rolled over" by trains. So far, he has survived the test of courage unscathed every time. He was investigated.
