Tree on fire after lightning strike Millstatt fire department

Smoke on the Millstätter Alm: The Laubendorf and Millstatt fire departments were called out on Tuesday. The approach was long and there was no extinguishing water. The operation was therefore challenging.

A tree had caught fire on the Milstätter Alm, presumably due to a lightning strike. The emergency services immediately began the first fire-fighting measures. However, due to a lack of extinguishing water on the mountain pasture, the Obermillstatt fire department was called out with the Tank 2000 to provide support.

Thanks to the excellent cooperation of all the fire departments involved, the situation was quickly brought under control. Action was also taken against the embers.
