Fallen trees and flooding after storms

Squalls, hail and lightning! A violent thunderstorm swept across the Tyrolean Oberland in the early hours of Saturday evening. The municipalities of Zirl and Telfs were particularly affected. The fire departments had to be called out due to fallen trees and minor flooding.

In parts of Tyrol, it poured down with rain in places on Saturday evening. After a summery day, a heavy thunderstorm front moved across the country from west to east, sometimes with hail. Zirl and Telfs were mainly affected. The Floriani firefighters there had to respond to 70 call-outs. Fallen trees and water damage were the main challenges for the emergency services.
