18-year-old confesses to murdering his ex-girlfriend

In Heidelberg, an 18-year-old has confessed to stabbing his ex-girlfriend of the same age to death at their school. "He has admitted the crime objectively," confirmed a court spokeswoman. The murder took place on January 25 in St. Leon-Rot near Heidelberg (Baden-Württemberg).

According to the indictment, the student allegedly stabbed the high school student several times with a carving knife, including in the neck and heart area. The pupil died at the scene (see video above). The accused then fled in a car and caused a serious accident in Seesen, Lower Saxony. Both he and another man were injured.

The 18-year-old has been in custody ever since. He is accused of murder and, due to the accident, also of causing grievous bodily harm. The trial is being held entirely in camera.

Verdict expected in August
The reason for this is an assault from November 2023, which is also part of the charge. The then 17-year-old is alleged to have injured his later victim with punches. The verdict is expected on August 15. The pupil has already admitted to the murder at the Heidelberg district court.
