With a new music label: AVEC honors deceased uncle

It happened without much fanfare, but singer-songwriter AVEC is now her own boss. The 28-year-old Upper Austrian founded a music label that is also producing her fourth album, which will be released in January. She honors her late uncle with the name of the label. 

On Saturday, July 27, she will be performing in Vöcklabruck, at the "Krone" festival (August 16 to 18) in Linz she will be one of the stars - AVEC never gets bored at the moment. Last week, the singer-songwriter released "I Hate You (So Much)", the second song from her album, which is currently nearing completion.

"A very important step"
The 28-year-old, who is responsible for the production herself, reveals that it will be released in January. This is because AVEC founded her own label this year. "It was a very important step for me and a dream for a long time," she says, describing the phase as a "new start".

The new songs were produced with Andreas Häuserer. She describes the creation of the album as a "very intensive process": "I think if we hadn't known each other for over 15 years, it might have looked different anyway, but it was really nice this way."

Immortalizing the nickname
AVEC's new music label also honors her late uncle: it's called Jim Bob Records. Jim Bob? "That was my mother's nickname for her brother," says the Upper Austrian. After his death, AVEC dedicated the ballad "I Don't Pray" to him.
