How could train stations be made safer?

Areas around train stations and train stations themselves are places where many different people come together. Young people often use such areas to "hang out", but drunks and homeless people also find their place there. Floridsdorf station in particular has recently made negative headlines due to the drunks there. What measures are needed to make train stations safer?

The station in Floridsdorf is just one example of a number of things that can go wrong in connection with such places. As far as the problems with drunks are concerned, an alcohol ban zone for such areas seems sensible. Security personnel or even a continuous police presence can also have an effect and convey a better sense of security. The same goes for increased video surveillance or emergency call systems.
