Stabbed in the stomach outside a Viennese coffee house: men in hospital

An argument broke out late on Thursday in a coffee house in Vienna-Favoriten over a difference of opinion. A 45-year-old man then allegedly stabbed his opponent (31) in the stomach with a sharp object. Both men were taken to hospital. 

It was around 10.15 p.m. when the argument got out of hand. The men attacked each other outside the coffee house in Favoriten and a fight broke out. The 31-year-old is said to have been stabbed in the stomach. The attacker (45) then fled the scene.

Fugitive attacker caught immediately
The emergency services were on the scene in a short time and the police were able to quickly locate the 45-year-old based on his exact description. He was provisionally arrested in the Quellenstraße area. Both men were injured in the brawl and were treated by the Vienna Emergency Medical Services and taken to hospital. 

"After receiving medical treatment, the 45-year-old suspect is being held by the police", reports police spokeswoman Julia Schick. There is no danger to the 31-year-old's life.
