Robbery at petrol station, then perpetrator apologized

An unknown person on an e-scooter robbed a petrol station in Vienna-Meidling with a handgun. The perpetrator is still on the run; the crime took place at the end of June. Mugshots of the man have now been published. Dubious: After his crime, the robber asked to be excused.

The unknown man in the mugshots is suspected of robbing a petrol station in Meidling on June 20 at around 9.15 pm. The masked man is said to have entered the building on an e-scooter and then threatened an employee with a gun.

After the robber demanded cash and received it, he apologized and fled the scene.

"The amount of cash taken is in the lower four-digit euro range," said police spokesman Markus Dittrich.

Description of the suspects:

• Male
• approx. 18 to 20 years old
• approx. 1.85 to 1.95 meters tall
• slim

Investigators are searching at full speed for the man. The published photos of the suspect show that he was wearing a blue rain jacket with a hood, black "North Face" jogging pants and black sports shoes at the time of the crime.
