Police catch perpetrator shortly after the crime

Alarm on Wednesday evening in Hörbranz: Shortly before 9 p.m., a man threatens the employees of a petrol station in Hörbranz with a blank-firing pistol. He flees with the stolen cash, but is pursued and arrested shortly afterwards. 

It is shortly before 9 p.m. when the 18-year-old rides an e-scooter to the petrol station near the border in Hörbranz. Wearing gloves and a balaclava, he enters the petrol station store. At the checkout counter, he pulls out a blank-firing pistol and demands that the employees hand over the cash.

One of the employees hands the robber the money he demands. The young man quickly disappears with the loot in the direction of Lake Constance. However, the 18-year-old did not count on one of the employees. He chased the e-scooter driver in his car and watched as the gas station robber entered an apartment building in Hörbranz.

The police, who had been notified in the meantime and deployed several patrols and a dog squadron, had an easy time of it. In the course of the manhunt, the suspect was arrested at around 9.15 pm. The loot is seized.

Officers from the State Office of Criminal Investigation have already questioned the 18-year-old. The suspect was taken to the Feldkirch prison by order of the Feldkirch public prosecutor's office.
