Salzburg Alpine Association could also lose alpine pasture

More than 100 years ago, the Salzburg Alpine Club bought a piece of alpine pasture in Werfenweng. The area is still owned by the section of the provincial capital today. It is one of six owners of the Mitterbergalpe. This is precisely the agricultural community in which a legal dispute over the Mayrhofalm is also raging between two brothers - the "Krone" has already reported on this several times.

The Alpine Club does not have an ancestral home, i.e. a farm, for its Werfenwenger Alm either. However, this is exactly what was deemed necessary for co-ownership of the alp in the brother dispute in court. "It's a pretty twisted affair," says Roland Kals, Chairman of the Salzburg section. "It could also result in years of legal disputes for us."

The alpine pasture is particularly close to the section's heart. Although part of the alpine pasture is leased, the Salzburg Alpine Club has one of its most important bases for young athletes there in the form of the Samerhütte.
