Delivery Hero faces a fine of over 400 million euros

The German food delivery company Delivery Hero is expecting a drastically higher fine for alleged anti-competitive agreements than previously thought. In the end, the company could be fined more than 400 million euros, the company announced on Sunday evening.

The Executive Board has therefore decided to significantly increase a provision of 186 million euros that has already been set aside. The decision is based on a recent informal exchange with the European Commission and subsequent detailed analysis.

According to the company's own statements at the weekend, the Group could be hit with the high fine due to allegations of sharing national markets, exchanging commercially sensitive information and non-solicitation.

Delivery Hero intends to cooperate fully with the European Commission, as it did during the unannounced searches in 2022 and 2023, it said.
