Unlicensed apprentice flees after drunk driving accident

On Friday evening, a 17-year-old apprentice from a car dealership in Maishofen grabbed a colleague's car without permission and wanted to drive it home. While drunk, he caused an accident and fled. He does not even have a driver's license.

On his way home, the 17-year-old caused an accident with material damage and committed a hit-and-run. He then picked up his friends and lost control of the vehicle. The car went over an embankment and crashed into a fence. The vehicle was badly damaged as a result.

After the accident, all six occupants fled. However, some of them returned to remove the number plates from the car. Witnesses observed this. When questioned by the police, however, the passengers denied their involvement in the accident. They also did not want to know the driver.

1.72 per mille
It didn't help, but the driver could still be located. A breathalyzer test showed 1.72 per mille, and the young man does not have a driver's license.

In addition to several administrative charges against the young people involved, the apprentice driver will also be charged with unauthorized use of vehicles by the Salzburg public prosecutor's office.
