3 billion euros: Tinetz is restructuring the Tyrolean electricity supply system

Due to the increase in decentralized energy production and new challenges on the market, Tiroler Tinetz is investing heavily in the Tyrolean electricity grid until 2040 - both nationally and locally.

Photovoltaic systems, e-charging stations, the switch to heat pumps: the local electricity grid is facing major challenges. As a result, Tinetz is investing a total of three billion euros by 2040 to completely restructure the energy supply system to meet the requirements.

"A real tour de force" 
"This will require a tripling of previous investments and is a real tour de force for the entire industry," explains Tinetz Commercial Director Thomas Trattler. 

More local network stations
In addition to the national grid expansion, the focus will also be on the local infrastructure. The number of local grid stations is to be increased by 50 percent. Until then, however, there will also be grid areas where capacities are exhausted. "Unfortunately, we can't do it everywhere and in all 4300 local grids at the same time," says Trattler, asking for understanding.
