Car on fire after technical defect

There was a vehicle fire on the B99 in St. Michael im Lungau on Wednesday. The volunteer fire department was able to extinguish the fire and nobody was injured in the incident. 

The car caught fire due to a technical defect in the engine compartment of the vehicle. Employees of the Red Cross, who happened to be driving past the car, were able to contain the flames with a fire extinguisher.

A short time later, the St. Michael volunteer fire department arrived with two vehicles and 14 firefighters. The fire was then quickly extinguished and a thermal camera was used to search for possible embers. The operation was ended after an hour; there were no injuries in the incident.
