Despite brace: Djokovic has no trouble at Wimbledon

Just under a month after his knee operation, Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic has won his first round match at Wimbledon. The 37-year-old defeated qualifier Vit Kopriva (CZE) 6:1, 6:2, 6:2. 

"I'm very happy with how I felt on the court. I didn't know how it would really feel on the court. Training is different to a match," said Djokovic. The world number two played with a bandage on his right knee. He had tried to concentrate on the match and not think so much about the knee.

Djokovic tore his meniscus in the round of 16 at the French Open at the beginning of June, but won the match. He decided not to play in the quarter-finals in Paris and had an operation.

Alexander Zverev mastered his first round task at Wimbledon with aplomb. Three weeks after losing his French Open final, the 27-year-old German started the third Grand Slam tournament of the season with an unchallenged 6:2, 6:4, 6:2 against Roberto Carballes Baena from Spain. The world number four Zverev converted the first match point after 1:53 hours. The Russian number six seed Andrei Rublev was beaten 4:6, 7:5, 2:6, 6:7(5) by Argentina's Francisco Comesana.
