Bomb threat: Innsbruck main station evacuated

After a bomb threat was received on Sunday evening, Innsbruck's main railway station was evacuated. The police were on site with a large contingent. The all-clear was given shortly before 10 pm. 

At around 8.20 pm, a call was received by the police in the Tyrolean capital. The anonymous caller threatened that a bomb had been planted on platform two and in the concourse of the main station.

Train services were immediately suspended, platforms, the concourse and the forecourt were cleared and a large area cordoned off. The police were on site with a large contingent. Several police patrols, the Cobra task force and explosives detection dogs were deployed.

No bomb found
The station area was searched and at 9.50 p.m. the officers were able to give the all-clear: No bomb was found, nor were any suspicious persons. The passengers who had been brought to safety were able to re-enter the station and train services were resumed.

The investigation into the unknown caller is ongoing, according to the police.
