Traiskirchen: Asylum seeker groped girls

An asylum seeker from Afghanistan is said to have sexually abused several children in an outdoor pool in Traiskirchen (Lower Austria). Two girls reported the incident. Another man was arrested as a suspected accomplice.

For the ten-year-old schoolgirls, it should have been a fun day of swimming, but it was brought to an abrupt end by two men. While the girls were swimming in the pool, one of the two asylum seekers is said to have touched them indecently.

Another man is listed in the police records and is also under investigation - it is not yet clear to what extent he was involved in the assaults.

Children reported the incident immediately
The children immediately reported the incident to a mother and the pool attendant. The police were informed and the men, aged 29 and 30, were finally taken into police custody in the changing room of the outdoor pool. 

Six victims so far
During police questioning the next day, the alleged perpetrator was clearly identified by the girls in a photograph. There are said to be six victims in total - five girls and one boy. Both asylum seekers have since been remanded in custody.
