The most popular loser: Donald Duck celebrates his 90th birthday

He is down on his luck, chronically broke, extremely choleric and yet the greatest comic hero of all time: Donald Duck. On Sunday, the comic figure in the sailor jacket celebrates his 90th birthday. Krone+ spoke to two legendary cartoonists about the capricious birthday boy. 

The unique career of the world's most famous duck began on June 9, 1934, when the duck made his first celluloid appearance in the seven-minute Disney film "The Wise Little Hen". The short guest appearance was the prelude to an incomparable triumphal march. Today, Donald Duck is the most popular Disney character, a global star and a figure of identification. Not bad for a moody feathered creature without pants.
