Raiders fire quarterback after only two games

This has never happened before for the Raiders football team: The Innsbruck team parted ways with quarterback D'Angelo Fulford after just two games in the European League. The club wants to be ready with a new playmaker on Saturday at the Barcelona Dragons.

Three days after the 6:27 defeat in the European League against the Vienna Vikings, the Raiders football team made a big splash by surprisingly terminating the contract with quarterback D'Angelo Fulford on Tuesday.

It's a club record that nobody at the Tyrolean football pride would have wished for. The 26-year-old from Florida only played in two league games. In the previous year, Christian Strong was still allowed to play eight games before losing his job.

Perhaps it wasn't just sporting reasons that were decisive for the separation from the playmaker, who had received much praise in advance. "We just weren't a good fit," Raiders sporting director Ulz Däuber explained succinctly when asked.

Since the departure of Raiders veteran Sean Shelton in the fall of 2022, the quarterback position has been a construction site. Super Bowl winner Jim Herrmann must now quickly rebuild the offense. The Innsbruck team visits Barcelona on Saturday.

With a new playmaker in Barcelona
"We have a plan A, B, C and D," says Däuber reassuringly. He wants to present the new playmaker on Wednesday. The simplest solution: promote Kason Martin from his own AFL team.
