The rise of the floods

Global warming is leading to an increase in flood events - at least that's what you often read and hear. However, the facts are a little more complex, as a look at history shows. "Krone" science expert Christian Mähr has investigated.

At first glance, the matter seems perfectly clear: When it gets warmer, the water vapor content of the air increases. The air becomes more humid. So it rains more, right? But be careful, because it's not quite that simple!
