First court case about a dubious real estate deal

The sale of a time-honored lakeside guesthouse and boathouse on Lake Traunsee will be brought before the Wels Regional Court from June 12. The dock is quite illustrious: The defendants face up to ten years in prison if convicted.

Two managing directors of a real estate company, two lawyers, a notary and a real estate agent will have to stand trial on June 12. They have to answer for serious fraud and face up to ten years in prison in the worst case scenario. The property on Lake Traunsee changed hands for around 750,000 euros in 2020.

Property worth 1.66 million euros
According to the indictment, however, the value was 1.66 million euros. The heirs of the then owner, who has since passed away, took the matter to court. The purchase had to be reversed four years later following a court ruling.

The six people now on trial are accused of ripping off the elderly homeowner. The woman is said to have suffered from dementia. And a lot will revolve around this issue at the trial starting on June 12 (three trial days have been scheduled). Three expert witnesses will have their say.
