Swan family paralyzed traffic around Lake Wörthersee

Good news: A local resident and the police in Velden have shown a big heart. They brought a family of swans to safety.

There were waiting times, traffic jams and police action on the Rosentaler Landesstraße in Velden on Saturday morning. Not because of a traffic accident, but because of an animal rescue. And the road users were quite astonished. It was a family of swans that had been caught by a local resident and the police. Once the two parents and their children had been brought to safety, traffic could be cleared again.
