Topping-out ceremony in the shadow of the debate about stopping construction

There are still many unanswered questions regarding the construction of the state-of-the-art campsite in Hinterstoder. However, the investors are insisting on a legally valid building permit and are continuing with the realization of their project despite unresolved rezoning issues. The shell of the building is already in place. It is the subject of intense political debate.

For Christian Schrems, the continuation of work on the new campsite in Hinterstoder is completely out of the question. As reported, the Constitutional Court has annulled parts of the zoning plan and the development plan in the area of the former Villa Peham as unlawful - the new campsite is currently being built there.

The topping-out ceremony is scheduled for next week. Schrems: "We have a legally valid building permit. That's why we are continuing to build, a stop would result in enormous damage repayments." Mayor Klaus Aitzetmüller (VP) is aware of the problem and announces that this "blank spot" in the rezoning process will be eliminated as soon as possible.

Strong criticism from the Greens
"The ball is in the municipality's court", is how regional planning councillor Markus Achleitner (also VP) recently put the ball in the court of those responsible in Hinterstoder. According to Rudi Hemetsberger, member of the Green Party in the provincial parliament, the province also made a mistake and Achleitner is now failing to recognize the implications of the Constitutional Court's decision: "The dedication was not revoked because of a trifle. The municipality dedicated the land without having obtained essential documents. The requirements for the dedication were therefore not met."
