Bloody knife attack on the street in Vienna

Another bloody knife attack occurred in Vienna-Favoriten on Sunday. After a passer-by (57) tried to settle a scuffle between two men, he was seriously injured by one of them with a knife.

The attack took place at around 7 p.m. near Inzersdorfer Straße. When the 57-year-old tried to settle the heated argument, the 37-year-old suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the 57-year-old in the thigh. Shortly afterwards, the suspect fled the scene. The 57-year-old victim was taken to hospital after the attack.

Suspect arrested
The alerted police officers managed to track down and provisionally arrest the 37-year-old on Monday afternoon thanks to witness statements. So far there is no trace of the murder weapon. The interrogations are still pending.
