Mother's Day offered perfect conditions for a trip on a motorcycle, despite scattered rain showers in the afternoon. A 45-year-old was also out and about on his bike in East Tyrol.

Crash after a few meters
After a stop at a restaurant in Kals am Großglockner, he got back on his bike at around 7.05 pm. "On the gravel parking lot, he lost control of the motorcycle after a few meters for as yet unexplained reasons and crashed," reported the police. "He sustained injuries to his head and the right side of his body."

To the LKH by helicopter
Fortunately, there were two people at the scene who immediately provided first aid until the Christophorus 7 rescue helicopter arrived at the scene of the accident. "He was first flown to Lienz LKH and from there transferred to Klagenfurt Hospital," the police continued. "According to the investigations, the accident victim was probably not wearing a motorcycle helmet."
